How GoGo helps to keep you safe on every GoGo ride

Driver ID before pickup

Before your ride is confirmed, you see the driver’s name and the taxi’s registration on your screen. If the taxi pulling up doesn’t match, you don’t get in. Tap cancel — you won’t be charged.

Safety and Convenience

We all love South Africa but it can be a dangerous place sometimes and the weather isn’t always great. Minimise your exposure to the elements (of all kinds) by getting fetched at or near your home.

What you can expect from a GoGo driver

As part of registering with GoGo, every GoGo driver meets certain criteria before their first GoGo Ride.

  1. A valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit), with category P (for Passengers) checked against the official register.
  2. A vehicle inspection — roadworthy certificate, taxi permit, clear GoGo branding — re-checked annually.
  3. And rigorous in-person GoGo safety training.

We work South African Taxi Associations — to make sure every driver on the platform is recognised by their local taxi association. No outsiders. No backdoor sign-ups. The taxi industry built this network. We’re proud to work within it.

What if the minibus taxi that arrives isn't the one in the app?

Don’t get in. Tap cancel in the app — there’s no charge. WhatsApp the GoGo safety team and we’ll investigate.

Can I monitor my GoGo Ride?

You will be able to tell how far away your taxi is and more importantly who will be taking you on your GoGo Ride.

Are GoGo minibus taxis different from normal minibus taxis?

Same vehicles, same operators, more versatility. Every GoGo driver has gone through on-boarding and these taxis will have GoGo stickering on one of the back panels and instructions inside on the passenger window.

How will the GoGo Driver find me?

The GoGo app in integrated with Google maps and has built-in way finding based on your location. Make sure location services are on,
